This manual is designed to acquaint staff with the Human Resource policies and procedures
of Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) in Kenya, its provide information
about working conditions, general employment guidelines, and employee benefits.
Personnel hand book
The HR department will organize induction of new employees, which will include detailed orientation about AMURT’s History, Vision, Mission, Core values, Code of conduct Programs and projects, Key management and operational policies, procedures and systems.
AMURT Vehicle policy
The policy and procedures have been established in an effort to provide
consistency in the management of our vehicles/motorbikes. These guidelines must
be followed to avoid damage, injury, or abuse to the organisation’s
vehicles/motorbikes and its users.
This policy provide stakeholders with accurate, objective, timely, consistent and complete information. It enhance smooth flow of information, feedback mechanisms and manage communication that is handled in an ad-hoc manner without requisite professionalism.
Non-discrimination policy extract
AMURT prohibits discrimination, including harassment, in its own workplace on the basis of race,
color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age,
veteran’s status, sexual orientation, genetic information, marital status, parental status, political
affiliation, and any other conduct that does not adversely affect the performance of the employee.
Conflict of interest
Conflict of Interest and or Commitment Defined-Conflict of Interest shall mean any circumstance under
which an employee or volunteer by virtue of financial or other personal interest, present or potential, directly
or indirectly, may be influenced or appear to be influenced by any motive or desire for personal advantage,
tangible or intangible, other than the success and well-being of the organization.
Child protection policy
Everyone who participates in Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) is
entitled to do so in an enjoyable and safe environment. AMURT has a moral and
legal obligation to ensure that, when given responsibility for young people,
coaches and volunteers provide them with the highest possible standard of care.
Drug free work place policy
The goal of the Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) is to provide its employees with a workplace that is free
from the abuse of controlled substances. Each employee must report to work and operate in suitable mental and
physical capacities, performing the assigned job satisfactorily, and behaving appropriately.
Safeguarding code of conduct
Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) considers all forms of abuse towards children to be unacceptable, and recognizes that it has a duty to safeguard children – that is to keep them safe, promote their wellbeing and protect them from abuse and harm. Neglect, physical, psychological/emotional and sexual violence are the main forms of abuse.
Risk management policy
AMURT aims to achieve better practice in the management of risks that threaten to adversely
impact on AMURT, its functions, objectives, operations, assets, staff, consumers or members of
the public. AMURT ensures its
staff, beneficiaries, volunteers, contractors & suppliers and other people are not harmed by its
AMURT has sound financial management systems and procedures entrenched in its policies
and whose mandate is drawn from management and the governance structures. AMURT
acknowledges that financial systems pervade the entire operation of the organization.
Procurement in AMURT refers to the overall method, structure, schedule, manner and effectiveness with hich the supply chain is implemented. procurement more specifically is the art of balancing objectives, resources and timefames to achieve optimal results.
AMURT is a voluntary charitable organization which depends on donors funding and small scale
nonprofit income to sustain the projects. It employ workers on
contract and volunteers for a specific period and such AMURT volunteers can not apply for
membership of trade union.
