OUR CORE VALUES

Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) is a Kenyan not for profit non-governmental organization registered in Kenya in 1993. Fully Kenyan and independent, the organization is inspired by Shri Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar; an Indian Guru and Philosopher who in 1965 sought to help victims of disasters that regularly hit the Indian sub-continent. AMURT aims to improve health care, education, empower the youth with skills, foster entrepreneurial spirit and support initiatives that seek to preserve environment. As of 2022, we have presence in 13 counties. Our core values are key to our identity and focus. They include:

Accountability: We maintain a commitment to transparency and accountability in all our operations and financial management; ensuring that resources are used responsibly and that donors, partners, and beneficiaries have access to accurate and timely information.

Equity: We strives to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances, have equal access to essential services such as healthcare, education, nutrition, and livelihood support.

Confidentiality: AMURT has the ethical and legal obligation to protect the privacy and sensitive information of individuals and communities that we serve. There is a fundamental principle that governs how AMURT handles personal and confidential data, as well as any sensitive information obtained during its humanitarian and development work.

Teamwork is a fundamental principle and approach to how we operate and implements our humanitarian and development projects. To us Teamwork is the collaborative efforts of individuals, volunteers, staff members, and partners working together towards common goals and objectives. It involves the spirit of cooperation, communication, and mutual support to achieve AMURT’s mission.

Fidelity is commitment to remaining true to AMURT’s mission, values, and guiding principles. This involves acting with integrity and maintaining a steadfast dedication to AMURT goals and objectives.

Integrity is AMURT's commitment to upholding a strong ethical foundation in all aspects of its humanitarian and development work. This is a core value that guides our actions and interactions with beneficiaries, partners, donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
